Ben And Jerry's Openair Cinema Brisbane 2013
Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinemas are a quintessential outdoor event, with feature films lighting up our huge movie screen from dusk. Cinemagoers can chill out before their movie with some tasty food and frosty beverages from the licensed bar, while relaxing to sounds from the best of the Australian music scene and sets from the most exciting emerging local musicians.
To top it off, every Sunday screening is a ‘Sundae Session’, a dedicated live music event with FREE Ben & Jerry’s ice cream for all! Their stage has featured acts including The Cat Empire, Kate Miller-Heidke, Kisschasy, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Winter People, Jack Carty, Dan Parsons, Tara Simmons, Ashleigh Mannix and many more. The eclectic film program line-up is one of quirky comedies, retro classics, great Australian fare, award-winning features, new releases, premieres and sneak previews.
They have a wide range of snacks and more filling fare to keep your tank running all afternoon and into the evening. The Vespa Pizza menu looks out of this world and you might have guessed, there’s mouthwatering Ben & Jerry’s to cool down those balmy eves (don’t forget that’s FREE on Sundays for our weekly Sundae Sessions!)
Their fully-licensed bar is stocked with all manner of beverages from frosty beers to sparkling whites and Aussie reds, and of course some great non-alcoholic offerings.
Bring a picnic blanket or hire a comfy bean lounger – Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinemas suit whatever your style may be! Get in early to grab the best spots as seating is unreserved (except in Star Class).
The action takes place at the South Bank Cultural Forecourt, opposite the City and next to the Wheel of Brisbane. It all wraps up on Sunday the 24th of November 2013, so that means there are a little less than a dozen flicks left to feast your eyes on. For a full list take a geeze here and for any other further info visit their dedicated website
Gates open from 5pm for tunes, tasty food and frosty beverages on the lawn so grab your nearest and dearest and head to South Bank on the CityCat from Eagle or Quay Streets in the city.
