Brisbane Arcade Turns 90
There is no doubting that some things truly do get better with age. The same must be said of The City’s iconic Brisbane Arcade. Opened in 1923, the Arcade stands as the oldest shopping centre in Brisbane, with a design reflecting the archetype of the traditional shopping arcades developed in Europe in the late 18th century.
Take a trip back to the 1920's and share your own memories of this splendid space by taking part in Brisbane Arcade’s 90th Anniversary celebrations between the 12–19 October 2013.
Brisbane Arcade will be embracing spring with beautiful flower displays as part of the celebrations.
The Arcade will be transformed into a museum space housing historic photos, news clippings and fashion pieces that time forgot.
