Tucked away in the London Woolstores building in Teneriffe, Claret House is stylish, laid back and feels a bit like home.
A relaxed space by day, with a breezy deck perfect for people watching, it positively twinkles at night thanks to the lights peeking through an array of antique bentwood chairs hanging from the high ceiling beams.
As the name suggests, Claret House takes an obsessive delight in wine. The list is varied, fairly priced, and well matched to the Modern European menu designed by rising star, Chef Dan Cossart. Service is light years away from the average inner City venue at this upmarket yet unstuffy wine bar.
Every Wednesday from 5 till 9pm 'Roast' delights are on offer for $20 and on Sunday's from 12pm they crank up the BBQ on the deck so you can indulge while you people watch!
