Another conference is coming to Brisbane, this it is all about gas. It is being held at the Royal International Convention Centre (RICC is the new section at the RNA Showgrounds) from the 27 - 29 August, 2013.
It is presented by Hart Energy – producers of the world's largest unconventional resources conferences – DUG Australia 2013 will focus on unconventional gas, LNG and emerging shale resource development in Australia to meet demand in Asia Pacific markets.
Here are a couple of facts of interest that are sure to be mentioned during the conference:
- Australia is the world's fourth largest LNG producer — 23 million metric tons per year
- Seven major LNG projects are underway in Australia with a combined capacity of 60 MMmt/year
- By 2017 Australia is set to eclipse Qatar as the world's leading producer of LNG (sources: E&P, April 2013; Oil and Gas Investor, April 2013; ABC News)
The RICC is approximately 2kms from the Brisbane city centre and the Manor Apartment Hotel - an easy taxi ride, or a pleasant walk from those with a little more energy in the mornings.
