Explore The Brisbane City Botanic Gardens
Take advantage of the amazing 'spring' weather we are experiencing at the moment and loose your way in the Brisbane Botanic Gardens. Only about a ten minute walk from The Manor Apartment Hotel Brisbane the Botanic Gardens are Brisbane's original botanic gardens. A living museum of plant collections, the gardens feature a mix of historic specimens and present day plantings from Australia and around the world.
The City Botanic Gardens are considered to be one of the most important non-indigenous cultural landscapes in Queensland. Central to both The City and South Bank, the gardens are only a 10 minute walk from the Queen Street Mall, Central Railway Station and the South Bank Parklands via the Goodwill Bridge.
Garden attractions include Bamboo Grove, Weeping Fig Avenue, Mangrove Boardwalk and the numerous ornamental ponds. Special events such as music festivals and community events are often held in the gardens. The large open grassed areas are perfect for relaxing in the sun, having a picnic or throwing around a football.
For all the inside information, walk through the gardens with a Brisbane Botanic Gardens Volunteer Guide. The walking tours last approximately one hour and are offered twice daily (except Sundays, public holidays and mid-December to mid-January).
