Sparrow & Finch - cool name right? A trendy clothing label and UK gardening and outdoor living store share this name, but did you know it's also one of the best eateries in the CBD to grab a tasty meal? Catering to the city's hipsters, people flock there in droves to catch up with friends over a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner, or just grab something to go.
Located in the heart of Brisbane's CBD at 100 Creek Street, corner of Adelaide Street, Sparrow & Finch is a licensed cafe serving great food, espresso coffee and a variety of beers, wines and spirits. It has a distinctly modern feel, featuring lots of natural light and a side alley courtyard brimming with tables.
Open Monday to Friday for breakfast, lunch and dinner (on some nights), they start from 6.30am and stay open till 9pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Food is immaculately presented and there's a huge range of gourmet salads presented on beautiful platters, appetisng baguettes and wraps, and mouth-watering hot dishes likes pizzas, roasts and sides, such as fried rice or Hokkien noodles. Why not try some of these tasty meals? At $8.50, the Moroccan lamb sourdough baguette is to die for – it comes with melt-in-your mouth lamb, rocket, pumpkin and sourcream. Or the fresh salami, salad and pesto baguette with a side salad for around $9.90. How about the wild rice salad with yoghurt dressing, or the spinach, sweet potato, roasted pine nut and capsicum salad? Lunchtime pizzas are around $6.90. They even take EFTPOS which is convenient when you're in a rush to get back to work and don't have time to go to an ATM.
Our staff at the Manor Apartment Hotel Brisbane (which is conveniently located about 50m away from Sparrow and Finch) wax lyrical about this place, and in particular their to die for salads! They are making me hungry just talking about them so must dash and grab one before they all sell out!!
