Bridge to Brisbane
Queensland it’s time to get your trainers ready!
The
Sunday Mail Suncorp Bank Bridge to Brisbane is here and will be held on
Sunday September 2, 2012. Only three weeks remain to enter this year’s
16th annual event.
The fun run caters for Queenslanders of all
ages and fitness levels offering a 10km course for serious competitors
and a 5km course for those up for a Sunday stroll.
The 10km
event will commence on the Sir Leo Hielscher Bridge - South (formerly
Gateway Bridge), travel along Kingsford Smith Drive, continue along the
Inner City Bypass (ICB), exit onto Mayne Street, then into RNA
Showground.
The 5km event will start from Hamilton
Recreational Reserve on Remora Road at Portside, Hamilton. The course
will turn left onto Kingsford Smith Drive and follow the last 5km of the
10km event.
For the first time ever Brisbane’s biggest fun run will offer all participants free transport.
Following
the fun run, the Race Village will come alive with entertainment, food
and expo stalls for participants and spectators alike until midday at
the RNA Showgrounds. This will include live entertainment from one of
Australia’s great singer songwriters and Kids Helpline patron Vanessa
Amorosi and her band.
With plenty of prizes up for grabs this
year, participants have the chance to win a Suzuki Alto GLX Manual,
complements of The Sunday Mail simply by entering.
Entries are open for both individuals and teams to register and help raise funds for event charity partner Kids Helpline.
